June 8, 2017 - A message from BEARD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

  Dear Beard Families,

We are excited to announce that we have begun the outside Beard Mural Wall Painting Community Project on Natchez Street.  Beard students will be helping to paint the mural called, "Learning through Time."  We want to thank a former student and his father, Mario and Nino Rodriguez for winning the Chicago community art grant and providing it to our school as a thank you for Mario's success.

You will see dinosaurs reading books by famous authors, ice age mammals playing musical instruments and playing on swing sets, birds learning thier alphabets, reptiles learning science and fish learning math. Beard's name will also be featured on the wall.

The painting will be going on from now until it is complete throughout the month of June.  We are all excited to see the finish project that will be featured on the news!  We are attaching pictures of the project from start to finish.
